Naming cars after cities is a common practice. The city they choose is most of the time some southern place people like to go on vacations or place that are known for they glamour factor or rugged terrain. It’s very rare that a car will be name after Hartford or Des Moines, but it’s even more strange when the car is not even available in the city it’s been named after.
5 - Dodge Monaco
The Dodge Monaco became a popular North American Police cruiser but was never seen close to the Principality.
4 - Chevrolet Corsica
This honest sedan was probably just too honest for the theft-plagued French island
3 - Alfa-Romeo Montréal
The Montréal was

, but Alfa decided to stick with it. Nevertheless, it wasn’t available for sale over there.
2 - Ford Torino
The only thing “Italian” the Ford Torino may have had was its dodgy reliability. Not for sale in Torino.
1 - Chevrolet Orlando
I guess that’s because Canadians wish they were down south, this little inexpensive is named about the Floridian but only available in Canada. Chevrolet says it is not sorry.

The Monte Carlo probably wasn’t sold in Monte Carlo, and I don’t think the Kia Rio is available in Rio de Janeiro.

It usually was. For Ireland and the UK it had to have its name changed because the US state of that name had registered itself as a trade mark or something like that, but only in English speaking places.

Let’s not be pedantic here Mr. Sweden.
Nor is Corsica, but it’s a place and the car was not available in the place it was named after.
I almost included Saturn in the list.

You should have included Saturn. Road & Track would have included Saturn.

Unfortunately the Kia Sedona is available there. The only mode of transportation that should be allowed is a Jeep or ancient coyote spirits.

I’m pretty sure that you would have been able to have a Monaco in Monaco. That certain model sold quite well even in Finland and I have seen several examples that have survived. I’m sure that there wasn’t a Dodge store in Monaco but there probably wasn’t any other either so most cars were bought from neighboring countries.
Here’s a press photo of a Monaco in Monaco.
